Allah’s mercy is endless, and the seasons of goodness continue to return. Alhamdulillah, we are now in the months of Hajj, —days in which believers reflect on the oneness of Allah and the obedience of His khaleel, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (ʿalayhis-salam).

These blessed days culminate in the great act of Qurbani which commemorates the submission of Ibrahim ‘alayhis-salam, whom Allah inspired with offering his son, Isma’il, as a sacrifice to Him.

In response to this profound act of obedience, Allah ransomed Isma’il with a ram which Ibrahim (ʿalayhis-salām) sacrificed instead. And Allah says, ‘And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram).’ [37:107]

In honour of this, Muslims sacrifice animals as an act of worship to Allah. Offering this Qurbani is a Sunnah of our forefather Ibrahim, and our beloved Final Messenger ﷺ. Qurbani is one of the great symbols of Islam. It is an emphasised Sunnah and carries immense reward.

‘Therefore turn in prayer to your lord and sacrifice (to Him only).’ (108.2)

You can offer your Qurbani with Muslim Help UK in one of the following countries. Not only can you fulfil the Sunnah, but you’ll also bring joy to the poor and forgotten.

Where Muslim Help will implement Qurbani Projects?

Muslim Help will implement Qurbani projects in four countries: Bangladesh, Palestine, Somalia, and Yemen

Due to the current situation in Palestine, we will implement the Qurbani project with small animals only

  • The Qurbani will be carried out within the three days of Eid in the country where your animal has been donated.

  • The meat is cut and distributed by Muslim Help’s staff to families in deprived and poverty-stricken areas.

  • In the unlikely event of an unexpected issue arising in purchasing the animals or in conducting the Qurbani, Muslim Help will contact the donors before or on the days of Qurbani.

  • All efforts will be made to carry out Qurbanis in the selected country, however in the unlikely event of any issue arising, Qurbanis may be carried out in a similar price zone and any donor will be informed prior or after the Qurbani takes place.
  • The Qurbani skins and other non-consumable by-products will be gifted to zakat-eligible families or may be sold and the proceeds given to zakat-eligible families.
